Do All Green Items Have Perfect Upgrades?
I have found 2, both are have perfect upgrades on them. So not sure if I am lucky or they all come that way.
Anyone found any that are not perfect in nature? |

All the Green items are perfect. They are only dropped by the bosses. The Green items where the items that the boss was using. There for if you want to get a Green Axe you need to find an axe weilding boss and hope that you get the drop. As for unlocking them I don't beleive that you unlock anything since the come already IDed.

OK..another question or looking for feed back.
So if you get a drop off a boss does that mean you won't ever get a green off that guy again since you already got "his" weapon? I did notice that the ones I have are named for someone, however I didn't notice the bosses name, I suppose I can look again. I know it is early to answer or be sure, but if you get one green per boss forever or per toon (meaning a person with 4 PvE characters could get a grand total of 4 off each boss) , that will definately elimate farming the bosses in that area. Similar to capturing runes I guess, once you capture it, it is already known, you can kill for boost or for fun, but no drop and no new skill. So it makes sense that you get one per boss. But then again if it is green and is supposed to be super elite or something, it wouldn't make sense to have everyone get the same weapon off the same boss. But neither does having a green drop EVERY time you kill a boss. That surely doesn't make them elite in nature. Once someone figures out a farming build that will be what they do all the time. I have one that is close and the two bosses I killed I was solo and got a green off both. I haven't gone in again alone to to try it, as it took me quite a while and quite a few deaths to get those two before my computer crashed. But if I keep getting green items off bosses every single kill then who wouldn't farm the repeatedly? Especially once you complete the new quests? I am sure some guys have already figured it out, and maybe they know one way or the other if you can get multiple drops from the same boss. |

its pretty much the same as a normal modded item. (if these are what they meant by "new items", the only difference I see are, it has the color green and (some) have the bosses names)
*not dyable. **too bad they did not create new graphics for these weps, bcuz they look exactly like the current weps. ***I believe they do all have perfect mods. pretty useless if they didnt. (unless someone has a non-perf one. plz post a pic). -only thing I havent tried on it is if the mods are salvagable... -cheers. Last edited by Starsky-sama; Sep 08, 2005 at 10:03 PM // 22:03.. |

I answered my own question and wil add to what I have found.
I went out and soloed a couple bosses and I didn't get a green off either. I could not kill Yak Slapper so I quit on him. But I got a gold armor from one and a slayers scroll form the other. I am pretty sure those are the two I killed last time, an ele and a ranger. I alos notice in the few PUG gamesi have runthat a lot of people are having truoble seeing their drops. Since they are the same color as the names. So scammer can sit and wait for the time out and pickit up themselves, assuming they are not rezoning. I have always poiinted them out and people actually got pissed because they didn't want the guy to notice. Basically so they could "steal" it. I definately think the color neeeds to be changed, maybe to red, but green isn't going to work, and most assuredly there will be threads from people who didnt see their item and had it picked up afterthe time out while someone sat on it and didnt help the group. Granted people have to be heads up, but a lot of guys aren't running around picking everything up during a fight, and if they press ALT and there is a group, the name of the item is going to blend in. A little off topic, but should be addressed. |

I went to SF with henchies and killed all the bosses I could find and didn't get a single green drop. Do you have to press alt to see the drop?
And ya I agree drop stealing is lame. Anet should simply not allow someone else to pick up an item unless permission is given by the owner, ie the item should not revert to general loot. |

so green items will kill the gold item merket? why bother getting a gold when a green should be perfect and frequent, i guess u just need to have the right green item drop with the mods u want on it.

With henches they might get the green drop, so not a great test. I went alone, solo completely. I am going to take my ele/mo in today and test the theory further of using different characters on the same account, I am pretty sure I can solo it with him, maybe even easier than my monk since I can go full health with him, so getting the drains won't kill be within seconds. I know I can kill the casters in Twin Lakes but they are only level 14 and 18s.
But I am stil trying to finish the quests before I try the farming, a backward concept to some, but so far I have only been impressed by a couple green weapons I have seen. Basically unless it has exactly what you want it is useless, because you cannot salvage it, nor can you switch the upgrades. That fact might make me alter my previous thoughts, golds are stil better because they can have more mods, and can be upgraded. Once people figure this out, the green market might dry up some. I noted that in another post, that they are more fad than anything, unles you get the perfect weapon for you, then it works. |

They are not "unidentified" so im guessing no. I found a nice green necro focus item, didnt unlock anything. and green means all its mods are perfect or max. though it might have mods you find to be useless. |

Your so wrong about boss only dropping one type of weapon only once per char. Today I got 2 of the same Bow from the same boss within 1 hour. I have a total of 8 one of a kind green weapons and the 9th one is a duplicate of one of the 3 green bows I found.

On a side note, i've found that this Jeweled Chalice called The Rockmolder Increases All skills' recharge 20% of the time. I've NEVER seen this mod before, in my entire game time, the max I've seen is 10%. I hope this isn't a mistype and really DOES affect all skills. Otherwise, this might not be as cool as I think

In response to the topic title: Yes.
To clear up other misconceptions: GREEN ITEMS ARE SPECIFIC ITEMS DROPPED BY SPECIFIC BOSSES. THE BOSS DROPS THE WEAPON THAT IT WAS USING, AND ONLY BOSSES IN GF/SF WILL DROP THESE GREEN ITEMS. YOU DO NOT IDENTIFY THEM, THEREFORE YOU DO NOT UNLOCK ANYTHING. YOU CANNOT CUSTOMIZE THESE WEAPONS BY CHANGING THE MODS. THEY ARE SO PVE PLAYERS CAN HAVE CLOSE TO THEIR DREAM WEAPON. Yeah. This won't kill the Gold item market because you can't customize the weapons with your own mods. People who have been doing the new areas with henchmen and not getting greens, remember, HENCHMEN TAKE THEIR SHARE OF DROPS. You have a 1/8 chance of getting a green with a full party, so if you kill 2 bosses and don't get any, you're not "unlucky". |

Interesting...it does say improves skill recharge 20%, with no inherent skill base (for recharge). Last edited by id0l; Sep 10, 2005 at 08:35 AM // 08:35.. |
